St Winnow CE Primary School, as part of Celtic Cross Education, is reviewing its school admissions arrangements for the year 2022-23. There are two main proposals of change in our 2022-23 Admissions arrangements, which are:
We are consulting on the proposal of decreasing the PAN at Grampound with Creed School (TR2 4SB) from 15 to 12 as all other year groups beyond reception have a PAN capacity of 12. We have considered factors, such as, the ability to offer a sufficient number of places for reception pupils. There is an average yearly intake of 7 pupils per reception year, so we do not believe this will have an adverse effect on future applications. Through reducing the PAN, we aim to maintain a provision that facilitates the most appropriate learning environment for our pupils. The reduction in PAN has also been considered in-keeping with health and safety objectives.
We are also consulting on the proposal of adding children in care from outside of England to our oversubscription criteria. Within this proposal, children in this category will qualify first, along with children in care in England (and after those with an EHCP who have a named school). This addition is in-keeping with the proposed changes to the admissions code and, as Church of England Schools, reflects the ‘nurture’ element of our Christian values.
The proposed arrangements are included, and highlighted, in the draft admissions policy below.
We openly invite comments from all stakeholders on these proposed admission arrangements in accordance with the School Admissions Code. The consultation period begins on Wednesday 16th December and will end on Wednesday 27th January 2021; this totals a period of 6 weeks.
You can submit your comments by emailing Mrs Cudlipp on email@example.com or in writing by contacting Mrs Cudlipp, St Winnow CE Primary School, Downend, Lostwithiel, Cornwall, PL22 0RA.
