Our topic this half term is 'Tremendous Tudors' and we will be answering the question 'Why were the Tudors so influential?'
In Literacy, we will be immersing ourselves in the Shakespeare play 'Macbeth'. We will be watching the special BBC schools animated version of it and reading both adapted and original versions of this exciting yet gruesome play! We will be writing character and setting descriptions, first person narratives, persuasive texts, play scripts and poems. We will also be performing and using drama techniques to enhance our understanding.
In Maths, we will be exploring fractions, multiplication and division.
In R.E we will reflect on this half term's value of 'love'. We will also ask the question, '' What does it mean for Christians to believe that God is holy and loving?'
In Science we will be learning about light, including investigating the effects of light and angle on the shape and definition of shadows and the way in which humans see colour. We will explore splitting white light in an array of ways to create a colourful 'rainbow'. We will also look at concave and convex mirrors.
In History, we will learn all about the Tudors and their influence on society.
In Art and DT, we will be exploring art and its use during Tudor times as well as creating Tudor roses and our very own model theatres with movable features.
In PSHE, we will be focusing on the unit, 'Keeping Myself Safe ' using the SCARF programme of study.
In ICT, we will be using Purple Mash to explore the use of spreadsheets.
In Music, we will use the Charanga music scheme to learn all about rap and hip hop music in the 'The Fresh Prince of Bel Air' unit.
